My long cherished dream became a reality when I successfully established ‘Cherry Kids Play School’ in 2023, only because I took the right decision by joining the SHG under NSRLM. Cherry Kids Play School fosters to address the gap in early childhood education services in Yachem Village and promotes gender-inclusive education. I am happy because I can serve my community while teaching my own daughter and creating employment opportunities.
Joining the Self-Help Group under NSRLM, DAY-NRLM transformed my life from a homemaker to a Master Bookkeeper, to a Bank Sakhi serving my entire community. Through the opportunities, training and confidence the Mission gave me, I have helped hundreds of SHG members access bank credit, financial services and social security benefits, while growing into a leader I never imagined I could become. Today, I proudly serve knowing that my journey has changed not only my family’s future but also the lives of many rural women in my block.
My dream of building a career in the hospitality industry became a reality through the DDU-GKY programme under MoRD & NSRLM. The training gave me the skills, confidence, and exposure to begin my career at JW Marriott, Pune, and today I am proud to serve as an F&B Attendant aboard the Costa Smeralda, a leading European cruise ship. This journey has transformed my life and shown me that the right opportunity and determination can open doors to a successful global career.
